Learning Objectives:

    1. Participants will be able to explain what mindfulness means;
    2. Participants will be able to discuss the benefits of mindfulness for one's physical and emotional well-being; and,
    3. Participants will have new skills and tools to use to bring more mindfulness into their everyday lives.

       

Session Description:

Mindfulness is a term that is often used, but what does it really mean? In this interactive hour-long webinar, Dr. Heather Hersh of Thrive Well-Being will discuss what mindfulness means and how it benefits us to increase being present in our everyday lives. Dr. Hersh will also teach some simple, pragmatic ways to increase mindfulness daily through several activities we will do together. Please bring a raisin or other small piece of food, such as a Hershey's kiss, and a willingness to try some new activities!

Speaker Bio:

Dr.Heather Hersh is a psychologist and a well-being consultant and coach. With over 20 years of experience as a licensed psychologist, Ivy League professor, and public educator, Dr. Hersh brings warmth, compassion, and wisdom to help people move forward in their lives.

Dr. Hersh founded her independent consulting business, Thrive Well-being, in 2019. With Thrive, Dr. Hersh has worked with many organizations and companies to improve their team’s well-being and to help them combat stress, compassion fatigue, and burnout. Dr. Hersh has facilitated discussion groups and led workshops on wellness issues, such as work-life balance, mindfulness, stress management, sleep/exercise, and resilience.
