Session Description:

There is no shortage of managers, directors, VPS, etc. however, there is a shortage of LEADERS. There is a major difference between directing and telling people what to versus leading them to their outcome. It is hard, it takes time and effort, and, especially as Human Resources, we need to exemplify what that looks like.

Speaker Bio:

Jason Lawson is a 30 year HR professional who is currently the CHRO for Dycom Industries, a $4.5B telecommunications construction subcontractor. Prior to Dycom, Jason worked for Installed Building Products for over 20 years, culminating in the role of VP of Human Resources. He has served in a variety of volunteer leader roles including serving as President of the Human Resources Association of Central Ohio (HRACO) and Chair of the 2023 OHSHRM Conference. Jason also had the honor to serve on the SHRM Blue Ribbon Commission on Racial Equity. Additionally, he serves as the Chair of the HR Committee for National Church Residence, a non-profit senior affordable housing provider. More than anything else, however, Jason's passion is his family which includes his wife, Aby, and his four (now adult) children.
