Session Description:

Tired of being a department of "no"? Frustrated with not being able to provide what you as an HR leader/professional KNOW you can offer? Are you ready to engage in the transformational work that HR is best prepared to perform? It is time to "reimagine" what HR can be and how you as an HR leader are the absolute right person to deliver it. Learn specific action steps you can take so that you become the HR leader that employees and managers invite into spaces rather than feeling like you have to invite yourself. Finally, get re-energized so that when you return to your place of employment you can do so with a fresh perspective on your value to the organization.

Speaker Bio:

Jason Lawson is a 30 year HR professional who is currently the CHRO for Dycom Industries, a $4.5B telecommunications construction subcontractor. Prior to Dycom, Jason worked for Installed Building Products for over 20 years, culminating in the role of VP of Human Resources. He has served in a variety of volunteer leader roles including serving as President of the Human Resources Association of Central Ohio (HRACO) and Chair of the 2023 OHSHRM Conference. Jason also had the honor to serve on the SHRM Blue Ribbon Commission on Racial Equity. Additionally, he serves as the Chair of the HR Committee for National Church Residence, a non-profit senior affordable housing provider. More than anything else, however, Jason's passion is his family which includes his wife, Aby, and his four (now adult) children.
