Kenston Henderson
"Conscious Decision Making: Becoming Aware of Your Inner Storyteller" (On Board)

Learning Objectives:

    1. Discover what is implicit bias?
    2. How to recognize different types of biases
    3. How to have Winning Conversations using the R.E.M Method

Session Description:

Implicit bias refers to the attitudes or stereotypes that affect our understanding, actions, and decisions in an unconscious manner. We all have biases and they typically are activated without an individual’s awareness or intentional control. Some biases reside in our subconscious and are formed through our different life experiences. More importantly, our biases affect the decisions we make on a day-to-day basis in the workplace, at home, and within our communities. So, how do we become more aware of them both personally and professionally? As a session participant, you will be able to: define implicit bias; recognize different types of biases; address negative biases that could be in located deep in your subconscious; and be equipped to engage in winning conversations using the Respect, Empathy, and Maturity (R.E.M) method.
