"Putting the Brakes on the Revolving Door - Why Retention Matters and Getting Your Managers on Board"

Learning Objectives:

    1. Develop business metrics that tie employee engagement and retention to business results and being able to create strategies to improve those results.
    2. Understand the importance of establishing ongoing developmental relationships with key employees in their department to improve the retention of those employees.
    3. Participants will be able to create tools that will help managers identify disengaged employees and develop ways to improve their performance and minimize the negative impact they have on business results.

Session Description:

As the economy steadily improves, pressures continue mount for companies to attract and retain talent. Unfortunately, managers often don’t understand the positive and negative impact they can have on retaining their employees. It’s commonly known that employees stay or leave a company because of a manager, however what is not often discussed is the negative effect disengaged employees have on the entire company and what the manager can do about it.

A major part of the solution is helping managers understand their role in retaining employees through engagement, coaching, development, and performance management. It starts with changing the mindset of the managers and helping them make the connection between employee engagement and business profitability. Recognizing these four components will allow managers to increase employee engagement, improve retention and stop the revolving door of employees.
