"Business Communication for Leaders"
- Strip away unneeded information and focus on relevant material to communicate clearly and precisely.
- Tailor messages to all levels within the organization to effectively communicate policies and practices.
- Sharpen listening skills to understand other points of view, and clarify ambiguity.
HR professionals spend 70 to 80% of their day engaged in some form of communication. Why then don't we devote more time to honing this important skill? It's more than talking, more than listening. It's keying in to our listener's perspective and tailoring our communication style to achieve the results we need. In this session we'll look at examples of business communication misfires, analyze what went wrong and brainstorm how to improve. We'll discuss what works in phone, email and face-to-face communication. Then we'll put pen to paper to polish our business writing (and even play some eye-opening word trivia in the process). We can always improve!
